SHENZHEN, China — England's Paul Casey won the China Open on Sunday for his fifth European tour title, beating countryman Oliver Wilson with a birdie on the first playoff hole.Casey closed with a 7-under 65 to match Wilson (69) at 13-under 275 on the Shenzhen Golf Club course. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jets running back Curtis Martin became the fourth NFL player to rush for 14,000 yards, reaching the mark with a 23-yard run in the first quarter of New York's game against New Orleans on Sunday night.Martin, in his 11th season, joined Emmitt Smith (18,355), Walter Payton (16,726) and Barry Sanders (15,269) as the only players to reach the milestone. He needed just 19 yards on Sunday.

ANCIENT OLYMPIA, Greece — The curse of the Winter Olympics struck again, with heavy clouds over the birthplace of the ancient games frustrating efforts Sunday to light the flame for Turin using the sun's rays.Bad weather also disrupted the ceremony for the Sydney 2000 Summer Games, as well as the past two Winter Olympics — in Salt Lake City in 2002 and Nagano in 1998.Officials had to make do with a backup flame lit during Saturday's rehearsal beside the 2,600-year-old Temple of Hera.
