William Valensky

William J. Valensky, 73, of Butler died Monday afternoon at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born April 25, 1938, in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Sobkowz) Valensky.

He worked as a self-employed over the road truck driver through Freeport Transport for more than 25 years until he retired.

He was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora, and he had enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

William was a veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife, Janet M. (Malis) Valensky, who he married June 20, 1964; two sons, Jerry Valensky of Butler and Jim Valensky and his fiancee, Christi Adamsky, of Butler; three grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Greenawalt, Kylie Valensky and Brooke Valensky, all of Butler; two great- grandchildren; Josh Greenawalt and Natalie Greenawalt; one brother, Joe (Penny) Valensky of Butler; three sisters; Mary Ann (Don) Josephs of Butler, Norma (Wally) Allen of Butler and Carole (Bill) Klowak of New Jersey; a special cousin, Ron Sobkowz of Butler; a special friend, Steve Huff of Butler; and his two beloved dogs, Frosty and Misty.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darla Marie Valensky.

<B>VALENSKY</B> — There was no visitation for William J. Valensky, who died Monday, April 9, 2012. Cremation services were provided by <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.His family requests that donations be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001, or to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
