William R. Gregory
William R. Gregory, 74, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Elmer Gregory and Margaret (Wilhelm) Gregory.
Bill was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church and Masonic Victory Lodge 694, where he was a past master. He also served in the National Guard.
He had worked maintenance in the hot-cold mill at Armco for 42 years, retiring in March of 2002. He also farmed his own land.
Bill enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing the lottery, drinking Stroh's beer and hanging out with his buddies, John R. and Bill L.
Surviving are his wife, Carol (Montag) Gregory, who he married 52 years ago, Aug. 3, 1963; his daughter, Laura (Roger) Wilbert of Butler; his son, Douglas (Brenda) Gregory of Butler; five grandchildren, Kolby (fiance Heather) Gregory, Adam (Amie Hotz) Gregory, Shayna (Cody Plaufcan) Gregory and Zachary and Gregory Wilbert; his sister, Joan Nicro of Florida; two stepbrothers, Gene (Shirley) Widenhofer and Wil (Agnes) Widenhofer; two stepsisters, Ethel Rita Welter and Mary Katherine Fello; and numerous nieces and nephews.
GREGORY — Friends of William R. Gregory, who died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alden Towberman, pastor, officiating. Masonic services will be at 6:45 p.m. Friday.Entombment will take place at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington.
