MONTECITO, Calif. — Andy Granatelli, the former CEO of STP motor oil company who made a mark on motorsports as an Indianapolis 500-winning car owner, innovator and entrepreneur, died Sunday. He was 90.

Granatelli's son, Vince, said his father died of congestive heart failure at a Santa Barbara hospital. Granatelli won the Indy 500 in 1969 with driver Mario Andretti and 1973 with Gordon Johncock.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns fired coach Rob Chudzinski following one season, which started promising but ended with a seven-game losing streak.Chudzinski had only been in place since Jan. 11, when the Ohio native was hired for his dream position by owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner. The Browns started 4-5, but collapsed in the final two months and the organization decided Sunday night to cut ties.Cleveland ended its season with a 20-7 loss in Pittsburgh. The Browns dropped 10 of their last 11.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Rex Ryan is staying put as coach of the New York Jets.Owner Woody Johnson announced after the team's 20-7 victory over Miami on Sunday that Ryan, who has one year remaining on his contract, will return next season. The Jets were 8-8 this season.

NAPLES, Fla. — Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was arrested on a reckless driving charge for the second time this year after officers clocked him going 110 mph in a 70 mph zone.A news release from the Florida Highway Patrol said a white Mercedes driven by the 23-year-old Cuban defector was pulled over around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.Authorities said Puig was arrested and charged with reckless driving and taken to the Collier County Jail for processing. Puig lives in the Miami area during the offseason.

LAS VEGAS — Chris Weidman defended his UFC middleweight title when Anderson Silva broke his left leg on a kick in the second round, ending UFC 168 with a horrific injury Saturday night.Weidman (11-0) quietly celebrated his victory while medical personnel tended to Silva (33-6), whose left shin bent grotesquely while landing a kick on Weidman’s left leg 1:16 into the round.
