Abraham Smith

Abraham “Abe” “Smitty” Lincoln Smith, 89, of West Sunbury passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Feb. 12, 1932, in Pittsburgh, Abe was a son of the late John Anthony Smith and late Mary Elizabeth Growe Smith.

Abe was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren; he loved to give them candy. He was a member of the Richland Sportsmens Club and was a member of St. Louis Church in West Sunbury. He worked construction for Laborers Union 323.Abe is survived by one son, Daniel Smith of Butler; one daughter, Laura Halstead of West Sunbury; one grandson, Randal Halstead Jr. of West Sunbury; two great-granddaughters, Aliyhaa Hankins and Noveah Halstead of Butler; one great-grandson, Wallace Halstead of Clarion; and a number of nieces and nephews.Abe was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Dolores Ann (Schmoll) Smith who passed away on April 24, 2020; one grandson, Ford Lee Halstead; five sisters, and three brothers.Smith — Visitation for Abraham “Abe” “Smitty” Lincoln Smith, who died Sunday, April 25, 2021, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.A blessing service will follow at 4 p.m. with Father Adam Verona of St. Faustina Parish officiating.Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.If desired, online condolences can be sent to www.williamfyoungfh.com.
