Roland Schubert

Roland P. Schubert, 79, of Butler, passed away, Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 25, 1941, in Butler, he was a son of the late Randall R. Schubert and Mary C. (Leinenbach) Schubert

Roland worked for R.R. Schubert in Butler for 34 years and then retired from McClymonds Supply and Transit. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. He was an avid and gifted pool player.

A veteran, Roland served in the United States Navy.Surviving are his sons, James Schubert and Keith (Valerie) Schubert, both of Butler; five grandchildren, Allison and Madison Schubert; James, Joshua and Kaleb Schubert; one great-grandson, Oliver; his brother, Stanley (Shirley) Schubert of Butler; his sister, Joanne Taylor of Manheim; his companion, Mary Ann Monfre of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Schubert; and a sister, Lois Acquaviva.Schubert — Friends of Roland P. Schubert, who died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.A blessing service will follow at 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The Rev. James Kurtz will officiate.Interment will be the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.Everyone attending is to provide and wear a facial covering, also practice social distancing.
