Butler police and emergency crews Wednesday responded to a pair of apparent drug overdoses in a 2½-hour period. Those calls were in addition to another suspected overdose Tuesday night.

In all three cases, authorities said, the opioid-overdose reversal drug Narcan was used on the victims.

About 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, 39-year-old Christian Nawrocki Jr. was found unconscious at his home in the 300 block of Third Street. Paramedics got there first and treated him.

Nawrocki’s mother, who also lives there, told authorities that her son was getting ready to play video games when he passed out, according to police. Moments earlier, she recounted, he had complained of not feeling well.

Police said a hypodermic needle was found in Nawrocki’s pocket. He refused further medical treatment after regaining consciousness.

Crews about 4:30 p.m. were back out for another suspected overdose. A woman called 911 to report finding Michael A. Leon, 47, unresponsive at his home on Pillow Street.

Medics tended to him before he came to, police said. He refused additional treatment. A syringe was recovered at the scene.

Police said they arrested Leon after learning he was wanted on a bench warrant. He was taken to Butler County Prison.

Court records showed that two different warrants were issued in December after he failed to appear for hearings stemming from a felony theft case and a misdemeanor drug case, both in 2016.

And Austin D. Young, 21, of Connoquenessing Township is believed to have suffered an overdose Tuesday night at an apartment in the 500 block of East Locust Street.

A man at the house shortly after 8 p.m. notified authorities that Young was unconscious outside. Butler firefighters got there first and found him on a set of steps.

He was given Narcan, but apparently had not regained consciousness by the time he was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

Police said they found a used syringe and pills of the anti-anxiety drug lorazepam at the scene.
