Mars Borough Council approved several items Monday night during a virtual meeting, including:

- A $9,975 fireworks contract with Pyrotecnico for the Fourth of July celebration

- Allowing solicitation permits to be issued, so long as soliciting entities adhere to county pandemic protocol

- An executive session was held following the meeting to discuss hiring a full-time employee.

- At the Jan. 18 meeting, council voted to send Mayor Gregg Hartung to a communication seminar at a cost of $45.
