Thomas R. Heath

Thomas R. Heath of Butler passed away peacefully Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.

Born Oct. 23, 1936, he was the son of the late William M. Heath Sr. and Irene Bashline Heath.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

He graduated from Butler High School in 1954.

After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he worked in communications, which helped to prepare him for his future employment at North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. and Miller Information System. He worked mostly at West Penn Hospital and later at St. Francis Hospital in Lawrenceville, installing and maintaining the telephones. He continued to work at St. Francis after his retirement, until the hospital closed.

He was an avid sports fan, his greatest passion being college football, especially Penn State.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Fetzko Heath, whom he married Aug. 4, 1962; his son, Gregory Heath of Butler; several in-laws, including his sister-in-law, Betty Fetzko, who has been a great help to the family; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, William M. Heath Jr., Charles Heath and Gerald Heath.

HEATH — There will be no visitation for Thomas R. Heath, who died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.Interment will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery.Funeral arrangements were handled by Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
