Carl E. Rice
Carl E. Rice, 81, of Zelienople passed away Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia of Cabot.
Born July 20, 1934, in Lancaster Township, he was the son of the late Harvey W. and Mary (Wehr) Rice.
Carl was a member of the Discovery Christian Church of Cranberry Township.
He retired from LTV Steel in Aliquippa after many years of dedicated service.
Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Military Reserve. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed camping with his family and the King family.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his three sons, Douglas (Donna Istik) Rice of Fombell, Michael (Christi Bicehouse) Rice of Evans City and Edward (Anna Barracchini) Rice of Zelienople; two brothers, Harvey Rice and his wife, Donna, of Lancaster Township and Ronald Rice and his wife, Loretta, of Lancaster Township; two sisters, June (Rice) Brandon and her husband, Chuck, of Prospect and Eileen (Rice) VanGorder and her husband, George, of Georgia; her sister-in-law, Pat Rice of Portersville; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Koegler, Natalee (Jarod) Colby, Jeremy Rice, Travis (Tara Harvan) Rice, Blake (Corey DeWick) Rice, Stephanie and Jason Gonzles and William and M.J. McAnallen; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Ellen (Hartman) Rice, whom he married Feb. 14, 1954, and who passed away April 19, 2016; and two brothers, Ernest Rice and William Rice.
