Barbara J. Choura

Barbara J. Choura, 78, of Jackson Township, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, while under the care of St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born Oct. 31, 1942, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Jones and Mae Johns Jones.

Barb was a former member of Rogers Chapel in McVille.

She loved watching the Tour de France, and enjoyed watching her son and grandsons play dek hockey. Barb also enjoyed bird watching, especially the seasonal hummingbirds, and she loved to plant flowers every spring on her deck.

Barb was an avid fan of NASCAR, and a supporter of the NASCAR Foundation, which helps raise funds to support nonprofit charities and charitable causes that help children to live, learn and play.

Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and nanny, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 57 years, Charles “Chick” W. Choura, whom she married on Jan. 18, 1964; her children, Dawn Choura of Zelienople, and Scott (Amanda) Choura of Butler; her grandchildren, Owen and Austin; her nanny children, Prema, Priya, Alex, Morgan and Angelo; her brothers, Ralph (Lucy) Jones of Vandergrift, Charles (Becky) Jones of Sarver, and Burchfield (Grace) Jones of Kittanning; her sisters, Nancy Volk of Freeport, Mary Rakowski of Ford City, Helen (Dan) Bauman of Sarver, and Robin (Ron) James of Freeport; and many nieces and nephews.
