A Fairview Township man will spend 5 years on probation for fondling an 8-year-old girl.

Gregory Ford Wilson, 65, pleaded guilty to indecent assault and was sentenced Thursday by Butler County Judge William Shaffer.

Court records say Wilson corroborated the girl’s report after she told a child victim advocate that Wilson touched her inappropriately while she was at his home in 2014.

The girl said she twice removed Wilson’s hand from her body and told him to stop.

In addition to the probation, Wilson was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and register his whereabouts with state police for the rest of his life.

“I’m considering moving to Costa Rica,” the defendant said during the court hearing.

However, the judge said, based on the terms of Wilson’s sentence, “I’m not sure that’s going to happen for a while.”
