Octoberfest Focus on classic horror, 'Twilight Zone'

Pat Priest, who starred as Marilyn on “The Munsters,” will answer questions and sign autographs at the Monster Bash Octoberfest this weekend at the Doubletree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Cranberry.

MARSHALL TWP, Allegheny County — Fans of classic horror movies and television shows, including “The Twilight Zone,” will flock to the Doubletree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Cranberry this weekend.

The Monster Bash Octoberfest — a three-day film festival featuring celebrities, special guests and horror film memorabilia — will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Feature films, question-and-answer sessions with the guests, and cartoons in a theater-style screening room are planned.

For fans who like to shop, there will be 200 tables of nostalgic memorabilia for sale, plus movie and TV stars signing autographed photos for fans.

This year's guest list includes Rod Serling's daughter, Anne. Her father, the man behind “The Twilight Zone” and “Night Gallery,” died in 1975. She will have a special presentation about him and also sign copies of her bio-book about Serling, “As I Knew Him.”

Pittsburgh television legend Bill Cardille, who hosted “Chiller Theater” from the 1950s through the 1980s, will meet with fans and sign autographs.

Another guest star will be young actor Jeremy Ambler, who has played a zombie on “The Walking Dead” television series. His other credits include the TV miniseries “John Addams,” “Killing Lincoln,” and “The Dukes of Hazzard.” He is currently in a film that's still in production, “Night of the Living Dead: Genesis.”Bert Gordon, sometimes called the king of the drive-ins, also will be appearing. He has directed and written such classic horror films as “The Food of the Gods,” “Empire of the Ants,” “Attack of the Puppet People,” “Earth vs. the Spider” and others that flickered on drive-in screens across America over the past four decadesAnd coming all the way from Mexico City, masked wrestler Blue Demon Jr. makes a rare appearance. He will sign autographs and display various Mexican wrestling masks and be available to talk about the history of Mexican masked luchadores.Other stars who will appear include: Pat Priest, who played Marilyn on “The Munsters;” Felix Silla, who played Cousin Itt on “The Addams Family;” and Lisa Marie, who portrayed “Vampira” in the Tim Burton film “Ed Wood” and appears as the evil Martian in “Mars Attacks.”Monster Bash hours are 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.Admission is $20 per day or $50 for the three-day weekend.
