Woman crashes vehicle into exit ramp wall

BUFFALO TWP — An elderly woman crashed her vehicle into a wall on a southbound Route 28 off-ramp around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh by Freeport EMS, according to state police from the Kittanning Barracks. Police did not identify the woman or the nature of her injuries. Only one vehicle was involved, and the woman was alone in the car.

The woman's vehicle appeared to cross over the grass and collide with the wall where the exit ramp began to curve. Police said her vehicle scraped against the wall for a stretch before coming to a halt.

The exit ramp in question carries southbound traffic off Route 28 to Route 356.

The Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company was also on the scene, according to police.
