Butler County Historical Society will present the third annual “Echoes from Our Past — Historic Cemetery Walk” at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 26 and at 2 p.m. Sept. 27 on the grounds of Butler's North Side Cemetery, 1002 N. Main St. “Echoes from Our Past” brings history to life through costumed actors portraying the characters and events of Butler County's ancestors. Tickets are $14 for the general public and $10 for historical society members and Butler Little Theatre season ticket holders. Proceeds benefit the historical society and the BLT. Mars Shortline Railroad has tiny train rides available. As long as weather allows, adults and children can catch rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays through September at the Mars History and Landmark Society's restored small scale B&O Train Station south of downtown at 1 Brickyard Road. The Old Stone House has a bake oven class Sept. 19 and an open hearth cooking class Oct. 10, both from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $35 each, with a two-week advance registration required. Oil Creel & Titusville Railroad has train rides Saturdays and Sundays in September. The train leaves the Perry Street Station, 409 S. Perry St., Titusville, at 1 p.m. Plan to arrive at least one half-hour prior for boarding. On the three-hour trip, guests can learn about the people and places where oil history began.
