Mildred Drescher

Mildred H. Drescher, born Nov. 15, 1924, in Mars, to Clarence and Mamie Hartung, passed peacefully at Passavant Retirement Community on Jan. 1, 2021.

She and her husband resided for most of their lives on Muntz Road, just outside of Zelienople.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Victor H. Drescher; her parents; her twin brother, Stanley Hartung; and her sisters, Viola Kozakovsky, Ruth Hays and Edna Feil.

She spent the last 10 years of her life in Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

A graduate of Mars High School, Millie was a member of St. Gregory’s Funeral Choir. As a lifetime member of the St. Anne’s Guild, she worked many summers on the Lawn Fete dinners and winters in the grade school cafeteria.

She was an avid gardener and champion pie baker. Best remembered for her abundant energy, cheerful personality and winning smile, she is survived by four sons, Victor, Daniel, Edwin and Gregory; as well as a younger sister, Rachael and her husband, Jim Hall.

She was the grandmother to Ginger, Lori, Brian, Crystal, Sally, Tony, Vic, Briana, Michael, Nicole and Jessica.

She also leaves behind 18 great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild and the first great-great-grandchild on the way.

DRESCHER — A Mass of Christian burial for Mildred H. Drescher, who died Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at St. Gregory R.C. Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with interment to follow at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Passavant Retirement Community Memorial Fund, 105 Burgess Dr., Zelienople, PA 16063.
