William “Jerry” G. Shorts
William “Jerry” G. Shorts, 79, of Cortland, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, with his family by his side.
He was born on Nov. 7, 1941, in Butler, the son of William and Mary Jane Nixon Shorts.
Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Knoch High School in Saxonburg.
During high school, he met his future wife, Sandra. They were married in 1962 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage.
Jerry and Sandra were members of Champion Baptist Church.
His strong work ethic was evident in how many hours he worked in his business, Shorts Drywall.
When he did have spare time, he enjoyed fishing and most of all, gardening. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandpa.
Loving memories of Jerry will be carried on by his wife, Sandra J. Shorts; his sister, Sharon K. Norris; his two daughters, Tina L. Sindledecker (Brian) and MaryAnn Minett; his son, Kevin R. Shorts (Sallyann); his adored grandchildren, Christie, Jessica, Michael, Paige (Mike), Tylor, Philip, Juston and Joshua; and his three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Evelyn and Autumn.
Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Rory A. Shorts; his parents, William “Bill” G. Shorts and Mary J. Shorts; and his two brothers, Robert “Larry” Shorts and Thomas A. Shorts.
