Robert L. Moag Jr.

Robert L. Moag Jr., 93, of McCandless Township passed away on Monday evening at his home.

Born Feb. 28, 1925, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Robert L. Sr. and Margaret Moag.

Robert had served in the U.S. Army from 1944 until 1946, during World War II. He then served in the Army Reserves with the 377th Engineering Co. in Butler until 1963, reaching the rank of master sergeant. He was a member of the Wexford American Legion and the VFW.

He had worked for the Mon-Con Railroad as a conductor for 38 years.

Bob enjoyed reading and playing the organ.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Carol (Edwin) Mack of Valencia, and Charlotte (Dan) Miller in Maryland; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his loving companion of many years, Joan Whitehead of McCandless Township; a brother, Clifford (Shirley) of Virginia; and two sisters, Lorna and Gayla (Paul) of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Raith Moag; a brother, James Moag; and a granddaughter, Lauren Hawthorne.

MOAG — Friends of Robert L. Moag Jr., who died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, where a blessing service will follow at 8 p.m.Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.Memorials may be made to the Northern Tier Library, 4015 Dickey Road, Gibsonia.Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
