Jessie Mae Purvis Thieleman
Jessie Mae Purvis Thieleman, of Mars, passed on to Heaven on Saturday morning at St. John Specialty Care Center under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born Dec. 29, 1922, in Valencia, she was the daughter of the late Beulah Miller Purvis and Verne V. Purvis.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mars Alliance Church, now LifePointe Alliance Church, where she was a choir member and taught Sunday School for more than 30 years. She especially loved to teach the Old Testament.
Jessie Mae is survived by her husband, Donald Thieleman, whom she married Sept. 5, 1952 in Winchester, Va.
She is also survived by a daughter, Ginna (Steve) Myerchin of Ft. Collins, Colo.; a son, Michael (Kim) Thieleman of Cleveland, Tenn.; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Marian Black of Valencia; a brother, David (Bonnie) Purvis of Valencia; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Hagens; a sister, Jean Johnston; and a baby brother, Sammy Purvis.
THIELEMAN — Friends of Jessie Mae Purvis Thieleman, who died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at LifePoint Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
