Jones

Gary W. Jones, 78, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022.

He was born in Butler on Aug. 12, 1943, and was the son of the late Milton and Renna “LaJune” Jones.

Gary was hired at Armco on March 10, 1964, and retired July 27, 2001, and had worked there for a total of 37 years.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, weight-lifting, and eating, especially Amish donuts.

Gary was the beloved husband of Loretta (Keck) Jones, since their marriage on June 19, 1982.

He was also the father of Mike (Stacy) Jones, Mark (Tracy) Jones, Richelle (Roger) Atkins and Tyler Jones; brother to Carol Welter, Joyce (David) Hartwick, David (Debby) Jones and Laura Jones; and grandfather to Brittani, Becky (Jacob), Emily, Corey, Hunter, Braden and Brock.

He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Mandy Olen; his brother, Raymond Jones; his sister, Sandra Fisher; and brother-in-law, Rich Welter.

JONES — Friends of Gary W. Jones, who died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

Burial will be held privately.
