Traffic project hitting Main St.

Nine traffic light signals on Butler's Main Street will be upgraded from Jan. 10 through the summer.

A news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says the signals that will be upgraded are from Pittsburgh Road to Penn Street. Most of the work will be performed over nighttime hours by Bruce-Merrilees Electrical Company for the $2.2 million dollar project, according to PennDOT.

No lane closures are expected, but parking spaces along south Main Street will be affected while concrete is placed in the signal pole foundations throughout the project span.
