BUTLER TWP — It has been two weeks since the Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Center was damaged by a fire, but the agency is now fully operational.

Irene Stacy’s executive director, Natalie Ross, today made that announcement, while Leslie Osche, executive director of the United Way of Butler County, also announced that her agency was mounting a fundraising campaign to help the Irene Stacy agency.

Osche said the Irene Stacy center suffered substantial losses to its administrative offices and, beyond insurance coverage, will have uncovered expenses.

She said the center needs to replace donated children’s books and patient education materials, and make up revenue that was lost when some clients turned to other agencies for help.

Osche said, “Everyone in Butler County, including individuals, small businesses or large corporations has a stake in keeping the county’s only nonprofit mental health agency fully functional.

Donations may be taken to any NexTier bank, or mailed to The Irene Stacy Fire Fund, 112 Hillvue Drive, Butler PA 16001.

The donations are tax-deductible, she said.
