Mary Catherine Czar Goehring, 68, of New Brighton, Marion Township and Goehring Brothers Farm, passed away at Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center and into the arms of her loving Savior on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Carrigan) Czar and was born Dec. 20, 1953, in New Castle.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jim Goehring; her daughters, Sharon Kingston her husband, Doug, of Ellwood City, and Kathy Tillia and her husband, Robin, of Ellwood City; her grandchildren, Cara Elizabeth Kingston of Ellwood City, Emily Rose Kingston of Ellwood City, Nathan Joseph Kingston of Ellwood City, and Brandon James Tillia of Ellwood City; three stepgrandchildren; her brothers, Paul T. Czar and his wife, Sharon, of Ellwood City, and John Andrew Czar of Slippery Rock; one sister, Margaret Lonkert and her husband, Jeffrey, of Tuscon, Ariz.; and her best friend, Agnes Meteny of Marion Township; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was a 1973 graduate of Riverside High School.

She met and then married the love of her life on Oct. 5, 1974, at Providence Baptist Church.

She was a longtime member of Concord United Methodist Church.

She worked in several greenhouses, and worked part time on the weekends for over 20 years at the Kaufman House in Zelienople. She also greatly enjoyed listening to her granddaughter, Cara, sing and perform. She loved gardening and she grew sweet corn, pumpkins, cantaloupe, and especially strawberries. She loved oil painting, woodburning and playing the guitar. She was a member of the Ellwood City Art Club for many years, and she loved country music and square dancing. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her best friend, Grace Haberman; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to her very close friends and her doctor, Dr. Larry and Lucy Rahall, along with all the medical staff who cared for her, Club Hope for its generosity during Mary’s illness, and also the Hillman Cancer Center of New Castle. The family would also like to thank Concord United Methodist Church for all its love, prayers and support.

GOEHRING — Friends of Mary Catherine Czar Goehring, who died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, may call on the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth St., Ellwood City.

The family will also receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, with funeral services following at 1 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church, 285 Concord Church Road, Beaver Falls, with Pastor John Phipps and Pastor Matt Bupp officiating.

Interment will follow in Concord United Methodist Cemetery.
