Lois Roofner

Lois A. Roofner, 85 of East Brady, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 24, 1935, she was the daughter of Byron W. and Jennie M. (Baker) Miller.

Lois was a Freeport High School graduate and was employed by Armstrong County at Armsdale for 20 years before retiring in 1996.

On July 6, 1956, Lois married the late George W. “Bill” Roofner. He preceded her in death.

She enjoyed shopping, puzzles, scrapbooking, animals, watching the Steelers and Penguins but most of all, she loved time spent with her family.

Surviving are four children, Cindy (Jim) Dickson of Petrolia, John (JoAnn) Roofner of East Brady, Sandy (Bill) Haller of East Brady, and Ron (fiancé Erin Goodgasell) of East Brady. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Rebecca (Steve) Bump, Carrie Roofner, and Cameron Roofner; four great grandchildren, Logan Bump, Matt Bump, Jamalyn Bump and Aiden Bump; two brothers, Owen Miller of Leechburg, and Eugene Miller of Apollo; one sister, Phyllis (Russ) Lamison of Leechburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill; one son, James Lee Roofner; one grandson, Jamie Dickson; one brother, Claire Miller; and three sisters, Vera Stephenson, Edna Zimmerman and Alice Kinter.

Roofner — Interment in Hemphill Cemetery will be held at a later date and at the convenience of the family for Lois A. Roofner, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2021.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, East Brady.

The Roofner family asks that memorials be made in Lois’ name to The Orphans of the Storm 11878 State Route 85, Kittanning, PA 16201 or the Butler County Humane Society 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
