The Butler Shade Tree Commission needs volunteers for a tree maintenance work day beginning at 6:30 a.m. Monday. The work will take place on Main Street from Wayne to Penn streets. Parking will be limited on Main Street. Free parking will be available in the North Main Street lot from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteer arborist Jen Senchak will oversee the work and several commercial tree trimmers with power equipment and trucks will join the effort. Volunteers are needed to direct foot traffic around tree pruning work, sawdust clean up, cutting pruned branches, loading trucks, stabilizing ladders, mulch fluffing and small pruning.
