SRU gets win at Gannon
ERIE — Slippery Rock University held the lead for 38 minutes Saturday in posting its first men’s basketball win at Gannon since 2013, defeating the Golden Knights, 78-68.
Deontae Robertson paced The Rock (14-12, 10-10) with 17 points. Micah Till added 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Lashon Lindsey contributed 13 points and Jared Armstrong 12 for The Rock, which can claim the fifth-seed in the PSAC West for the upcoming conference tournament. SRU would have to win its last two games while Gannon (13-12, 12-9) loses to California.
Gannon 87, SRU (women) 50 — The Rock (8-18, 6-14) remains a game behind Seton Hill and Mercyhurst for the final PSAC tournament berth in the West Division with two games to play. Brooke Hinderliter scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds for The Rock. She moved into second place on SRU’s career scoring list with 1,700 points. Madison Johnson added eight points.
Tori Obenrader scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds for Gannon (21-6, 17-4).
Both Rock teams play at Edinboro Wednesday night.
Anne Arundel 64, Butler County Community College (women) 54 — The Pioneers’ season ended at 5-20 with this Region XX tournament loss.
Casey Kretzer scored 22 points while Michaella Roth added 11 for BC3. Skye Wessel had 10 points and 11 rebounds, Alexis Barnhart 15 rebounds.
