Farm bureaus give $10K to charity
The Butler County Farm Bureau joined other county farm bureaus from Western Pennsylvania to donate $10,006 in food and other products to the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh. The Butler farm bureau contributed $2,295 worth of food and other items that were collected during its recent spring meeting and donated by churches and residents. The donations from the farm bureaus also included cleaning and paper products, money and gift cards. The Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to stay while their children up to age 21 are hospitalized for long periods of time.
Bus service to new center to begin
The Butler Transit Authority will begin providing bus service on Monday to the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Center in the Pullman Center Business Park.
The center, which opened last month, will be serviced by the Route 2/4 bus. The additional stop will affect the Woody Drive bus stop by two minutes. No other stops will be affected.
