Death of student in Pgh. ruled suicide
PITTSBURGH — Authorities say the death of a freshman who plunged from a fifth-floor balcony at a Catholic university in Pittsburgh has been ruled a suicide.
The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office issued the ruling Tuesday in the death last week of Dalton Bacco, 19, of West View who died of blunt force injuries following the fall at Carlow University.
University spokesman Drew Wilson said Bacco fell from the balcony of the building to the pavement on May 3 and was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Wilson said the death occurred during finals week at the university.
