Patricia Hill of Cabot was recently named the Most Distinguished Pilgrim for 2006 by the Society of Mayflower Descendents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.Hill was honored for her service as regent, governor and guardian for the Western Colony.The organization consists of members able to trace their genealogy to passengers of the Mayflower.———

<B>Lifesteps</B>, in partnership with Volunteers of America and Scholastic, distributed more than 2,500 new books to children in Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Indiana and Lawrence counties recently.Lifesteps distributed books to children involved in its developmental Child Check screenings; the Families Forever program for families coping with custody issues, separation and divorce; and to low-income families in the area. Lifesteps also distributed books to the ABC Literacy Project in Armstrong County.———

<B>Historic Harmony</B> has announced new officers elected during its recent Christmas dinner.Re-elected to two-year terms were president and Chief Executive Officer <B>John Ruch </B>of Jackson Township, vice president <B>Cathryn Rape</B> of Harmony, secretary <B>Samuel Regal </B>of Zelienople and treasurer <B>Joseph White </B>of Harmony.Non-officer directors re-elected to serve three-year terms through 2009 were <B>Tim Shaffer</B> of Prospect and <B>Eleanor Wise</B> of Jackson Township.———

<B>Newhaven Court at Clearview</B> recently raised more than $1,800 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.The funds were joined with those raised by other facilities in the IntegraCare Corp., Newhaven Court's parent company, for a total donation of $8,000.Fundraisers included lottery ticket and basket raffles, spaghetti dinners and bake sales.———
