Butler Cubs boxing show slated Saturday
At least five members of the Butler Cubs boxing gym will be on the card Saturday night when the Cubs Hall hosts its annual amateur boxing show.
Cubs boxing manager Don Spinetti said at least 12 bouts will be on the card, which gets under way at 7:30 p.m.
Lucas Adams, 22, sporting a 30-10 amateur record with the Cubs, is scheduled to face Lucas Llera of the Wolfpack gym.
Billy Wolfe, 17, who recently lost a decision to Nate Johnson of the Wolfpack gym in the Pittsburgh Golden Gloves finals, will have a rematch with him at 150 pounds. Wolfe is 50-10 as an amateur.
Carrie Valuska, 17, is 1-0 and will take on Sandra Gonzales of Bronson House at 155 pounds.
James Kozar, 19, will make his amateur debut against Tre Williams of Foundation at 141 pounds.
Isaac Gunther, 15, will take on Laron Rockymore of Boyce A.C. at 145 pounds. Gunther is 8-2 in his career.
Steve Cunningham, son of the former world boxing champion of the same name, will fight on the card at 132 pounds.
