PITTSBURGH — A Butler man injured in a three-vehicle accident Thursday at Route 8 and Unionville Road in Center Township died Monday at a Pittsburgh hospital.

According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office, Robert McMahon, 62, died at 6:16 p.m. at UPMC Presbyterian due to blunt force trauma to the head, neck and trunk.

State police report McMahon’s pickup was eastbound when it ran a red light at the Route 8 intersection, colliding with a southbound Ford pickup.

Witnesses saw McMahon ejected from his Dodge Ram.

He was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital and then flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian.

The Ford pickup driver and his passenger were treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital.

After the initial impact, the Ford was hit by a car.
