Rosalind Hazel Waltenbaugh

Rosalind Hazel Waltenbaugh

Rosalind Hazel Waltenbaugh passed peacefully from this earthly life into the presence of her blessed Savior on Thursday surrounded by the comfort of her loving family.

Rosalind was born Oct. 22, 1930, to Walter and Nellie Branning. She was the eldest of seven children.

Rosalind graduated from Freeport Area High School in 1948.

She studied piano at the Pittsburgh Music Institute.

Rosalind was united in marriage to her husband, Arment Clark Waltenbaugh, on June 29, 1948. They would go on to have five children, 35 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosalind will be remembered as a joyful woman who deeply loved the Lord and his word and had a passion to share the love of Christ and the joyous news of the gospel with others, especially children.

She was a Sunday school teacher and hosted many “Backyard Bible Clubs” with the children of the neighborhood. She was a joyful encourager and a prayer warrior, praying daily for all of her children, grandchildren and other family and friends by name.

Rosalind was a wonderful, loving, wife and mother. She found no greater joy than caring for and being with her family.

Rosalind had a great love for music, especially the piano. She was a church pianist and organist. She taught piano for many years and was nanny and caregiver for a few dear families.

Rosalind loved to read, crochet and draw. She was a wonderful storyteller and her grandchildren have many memories of her tales of “Ant-Boy and Spider-Boy.”

Rosalind was a true treasure and gift from the Lord to her family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
