WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Amazon says it plans to open a $40 million robotics innovation hub west of Boston.

The technology giant said Wednesday the complex will open in 2021 in Westborough, Mass. Amazon says the expansion will create about 200 tech and advanced manufacturing jobs.

Amazon says it has created more than 4,000 full-time jobs in Massachusetts and has invested over $3 billion there since 2011.

Amazon's robotics division has been focused on making warehouse robots that stack and move goods at its distribution centers.

DETROIT — The acting president of the United Auto Workers said Wednesday that a corruption scandal plaguing the union will get worse before it gets better, but that he's confident he can fix the mess and turn over a clean house to the next leader.Rory Gamble, a union vice president who successfully negotiated a tentative contract with Ford, took over as acting president Saturday when Gary Jones took a paid leave of absence.Gamble pledged to put financial controls in place to stop the bribery and embezzlement uncovered in a widening federal investigation that has so far snared 13 people.

SAN FRANCISCO — California’s attorney general disclosed an ongoing probe into Facebook’s privacy practices Wednesday, as it sued the company over its repeated refusal to turn over documents and answer questions.California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said his probe has been going on for more than a year.He said he was disclosing it now because his office was making a public court filing to force the company to comply with subpoenas and requests for information.
