'Pandas 3D' IMAX film to open at Science Center
PITTSBURGH — “Pandas 3D,” the IMAX original film narrated by actress Kristen Bell, takes audiences through the amazing experience of a captive-born panda’s introduction into the wild. The film will open June 8 at the Rangos Giant Cinema at the Carnegie Science Center.
Described by Bell as an immersive and educational film, “Pandas 3D” follows scientists at Chengdu Panda Base in China who are taking their captive breeding program to the next level and preparing captive-born cubs for the wild.
A researcher initiates a new method of introduction inspired by a rural New Hampshire black bear rehabilitator.
This cross-cultural collaboration of techniques becomes a life-changing journey for one panda named Qian Qian.
The film will run through June 21 at the Science Center.
