Rachel Weber set a new Slippery Rock University women's track-and-field record with a weight-throw attempt of 50 feet, 2 inches at the SRU Open Friday, one of 10 first-place finishes by The Rock.

Weber also won the shot put while Amanda Seigworth won the 200 dash and 55 hurdles, Whitney Hendershot took the high and long jumps, Tiffany Tedesco won the 55 dash, Kaela Snyder was first in the 400 and Sarah Reppermund (Knoch) and Kelly Fischer tied for tops in the pole vault.

The 1,600 relay team of Tedesco, Smith, Seigworth and Rachel Knapp also was victorious.

In the men's meet, seven first-place performances were on display, led by Bill Nguyen's titles in the 55 dash and long jump.

Shawn Vanderbrook won the high jump, Ethan Geisler (Slippery Rock High) and Brady Wert tied for the hurdles win, Jimmy Schneider took the pole vault, Dan Henry won the 800 and Andrew Greenslade was first the shot put.
