SRU's Hansen 3rd at NCAA's
Slippery Rock University's Jen Hansen picked up her sixth career All-America honor in the women's pole vault on Saturday, placing third in the event at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C.
Amanda Seigworth also earned All-America honors Saturday when she placed sixth in the 400 hurdles with a school-record time of 59.23, which broke her previous mark of 59.27, which was set in the preliminaries Thursday.
Hansen missed her first two attempts at the opening height, but bounced back to clear the first three heights. Hansen and two others cleared 3.93 meters before all missed a 4.03 meters.
Hansen was awarded third place based on the number of missed attempts.
Kim Stitt also competed in the event. She fouled in all three attempts to place 18th.
Jen Harpp was the third SRU athlete to earn All-America honors for the women's team (sixth in the 10,000 run Thursday).
