Former CVS manager charged with theft
CRANBERRY TWP — Township police have charged a Pittsburgh man with stealing more than $17,000 from a CVS where he worked as a store manager.
According to charges filed by Cranberry Township police, Mark Ducruet admitted to stealing $17,142.37 from the CVS on Freedom Road to pay for personal expenses and illegally purchased hydrocodone and OxyContin.
Police say when the business realized the funds were missing, the regional loss prevention manager and district manager approached Ducruet, and he admitted to taking the money.
The regional manager got a written statement from Ducruet and also found 11 clear, cash deposit bags in his vehicle with $590.75 remaining.
Police later interviewed Decruet and he confirmed the written statement was his and that he had stolen the money.
As a store manager, part of Ducruet's duties included making deposits to PNC bank. The bags found in his vehicle matched those used by CVS to deposit money.
Ducruet is charged with theft by failure to make required disposition of funds and receiving stolen property.
His preliminary hearing is on June 30.
