Slippery Rock High graduate Mike Ramirez scored the first three goals of his collegiate career as the Slippery Rock University soccer team edged Mercyhurst 4-3 Wednesday.

Ramirez, who had been scoreless in two seasons at The Rock, broke out with a first-half goal and two more in the second half.

The victory moves SRU (11-5-1, 5-3) into a four-way tie with Millersville, East Stroudsburg and Shippensburg for the PSAC lead.

A win Saturday over Lock Haven would give The Rock the league crown.
