BC3 VOLLEYBALL

COLUMBIA, Md. — Butler County Community College ended its women's volleyball season with a 3-2 loss to Montgomery-Rockville (Md.) in the Region XX championship match Sunday.

The Pioneers (24-7) came out of the losers bracket of the two-day double-elimination tournament after dropping a 3-2 decision to top-seeded Rockville in the second-round.

BC3 defeated No. 3 seed Lorain County Community College (Ohio) 3-1 and 3-2 during the tournament. The Pioneers were the No. 2 seed in the five-team competition.

Scores of the championship match were 20-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-25, 14-16. Sarah Beals had 14 kills and 21 assists, Ashley Campbell had nine kills and Chelsea Pallone had eight kills and 19 digs for BC3.

Beals, Campbell, Pallone and Danielle Lloyd made the all-tournament team.
