COLLEGE NOTES

ALEC MILLER (Grove City) earned a pin at 157 pounds in Thiel College’s 41-9 wrestling triumph over Case Western Reserve University Saturday.•

MEGAN GEBROSKY (Seneca Valley), a junior guard for the Grove City College women’s basketball team, scored 10 points in a 68-61 Presidents’ Athletic Conference win over Thiel College Saturday.•

AMY ACHESINSKI (Butler), a senior forward on the Mercyhurst women’s basketball team, was named PSAC West Player of the Week for the third time this season. She recorded 25 points and 13 rebounds against Mansfield, and scored 18 points against Bloomsburg.•

ROB BRIGGS (Knoch), a junior forward on the Westminster men’s basketball team, was named Titans Athlete of the Week. He scored a career-high 22 points in a 75-69 loss to Waynesburg and had 11 rebounds in a 71-68 loss to Washington & Jefferson.•

JASON JAMIESON and CAMERON DAUGHERTY (Slippery Rock University) were named PSAC Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Jamieson scored the league’s fastest time in the 800 meters this year at 1 minute, 55.81 seconds while Daugherty posted the best pole vault mark in the nation at 4.90 meters in a meet at Kent State.•

CHRISTINE SLATER (Grove City College) was named PAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. She scored 28 points in a win over Bethany and 25 in a win over Thiel.
