COLLEGE NOTES

MONICA GLOMB (Mars), a senior on the Kutztown University women’s softball team, was the winning pitcher twice as the Golden Bears went 4-0 in games played at North Carolina-Pembroke.•

MARON BROWN (Slippery Rock University), a senior forward, was named PSAC West Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Brown averaged 23.5 points, nine rebounds and two steals in wins over Gannon and Clarion.•

CHRIS WARNING (Slippery Rock University), a senior thrower on the SRU men’s indoor track and field team, was named PSAC Male Field Athlete of the Week. He topped his own school record in the weight throw with an NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 18.67 meters at Saturday’s Division II Team Challenge at the University of Findlay (Ohio).•

AMY ACHESINSKI (Butler), a member of the Mercyhurst College women’s basketball team, had 15 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 66-65 PSAC West loss to Clarion Wednesday.•

ROB BRIGGS (Knoch), a junior forward on the Westminster men’s basketball team, had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Titans’ 64-56 loss to Washington & Jefferson Wednesday night.•

MEGAN GEBROSKY (Seneca Valley) scored 18 points to help the Grove City College women’s basketball team to a 75-67 victory over Thiel Wednesday.
