SAM VOLPONI (Slippery Rock), a junior on the Waynesburg University women’s softball team, was named Female Athlete of the Week by the university. She hit .566 in four games as a third baseman in Kissimmee, Fla., producing a double, two RBI and three runs scored.•

AMY HALLS (Slippery Rock University) was named PSAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week. She scored 11 goals in two games, including eight in the season-opener, and now owns the SRU record of 116 career goals.
