SRU softball gets split
Shardea Croes went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored to lead the Slippery Rock University softball team to a 6-1 win over West Liberty State in the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon.
The Rock dropped the first game 5-3.
Butler High product Jenna Geibel added two hits and Knoch graduate Kirsten Brant a pair of RBI in the Game Two victory.
SRU pitchers Lindsey Grace and Amy Erickson combined to give up just one unearned run, with Grace picking up the win after pitching five shutout innings.
Geibel had a single in the first game defeat.
The Rock (17-5) travels to Gannon on Friday.
