Katie Saluga went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs in the first game to launch the Slippery Rock University softball team 6-5 and 15-6 wins in a doubleheader sweep of Mercyhurst University at home Friday afternoon.

Saluga now has six home runs already this season.

In the second game, The Rock rapped out 18 hits with Katie Kaiser leading the way with a 5-for-5 day.

Saluga is leading the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in batting with a .493 average. Kaiser is seventh in the conference with a .444 average.

Ashley Knight and Emily Lobdell picked up the wins in the circle for The Rock (9-11, 2-2).

Knight is sixth in the PSAC with 66 strikeouts.
