SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University women’s cross country team placed seventh Saturday in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional held at Cooper’s Lake.

Jenny Picot placed 18th individually for The Rock while Janine Powis was 24th.

Edinboro won the team championship with 51 points, followed by Bloomsburg, Shippensburg, Lock Haven, California, West Virginia Wesleyan and SRU.

The top three teams earned berths in the NCAA National Championships Dec. 6 in Louisville, Ky.
