Rock women's lacrosse loses in double OT
Slippery Rock University’s women’s lacrosse team battled back from a six-goal deficit, only to fall 13-12 in double overtime to No. 16 West Chester at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium on Friday.
Kaytlin Callaghan scored four of her team-high five goals during a 5-0 run in the second half that lifted SRU (2-5, 0-2) back into the game.
Neither team scored in the first six-minute overtime, but West Chester’s Sarah Dennison notched the deciding goal with 3:49 remaining in the second overtime.
Paige Costantino added four goals for The Rock and Jordan Wagner stopped six shots in net.
It was The Rock’s second straight defeat in double overtime after losing to No. 18 Seton Hill on Tuesday.
