Riley, Rabenold earn GCC honors
GROVE CITY — Peter Riley and Emily Rabenold have been named Grove City College's Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, respectively, for the 2014-15 academic year.
Riley, a senior tennis player, earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the third time this season. He won conference titles at first singles and first doubles in leading GCC to its 25th consecutive PAC title.
Riley is 44-10 in singles play, 48-16 in doubles in his collegiate career. An English/French double major, he is a scholar-athlete as well.
Rabenold, a junior cross country and track and field performer, became GCC cross country's third NCAA Division III All-American by placing 28th at the NCAA Championships last November. She repeated as PAC MVP in women's outdoor track this spring.
Rabenold owns the school's outdoor records in the steeplechase and 10,000 meters, indoor marks in the mile, 3,000 and 5,000 meters. A biology major, she earned Academic All-District honors last year.
