College Notes

REBECCA PENNINGTON (Karns City), a freshman on the Chatham cross country team, placed ninth overall out of 313 runners at the Inter Regional Rumble in Oberlin, Ohio. She ran the course in 22 minutes, 29 seconds.

SCOTT HANGLITER (Seneca Valley), a sophomore on the Grove City golf team, earned medalist honors with a 78 at the Grove City College Fall Invitational at Grove City Country Club.

SAM HENSON (Seneca Valley) and ETHAN CONTO (Karns City), linebackers for the Grove City football team, both had eight tackles in the Wolverines’ 28-3 win over Waynesburg.

BARBIE CESSAR (Slippery Rock), a member of the Penn State Behrend swimming team, placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke and eighth in the 100 breaststroke at the Grove City Fall Classic.

COURTNEY GRUBBS (Freeport), a freshman on the Thiel volleyball team, had a match-high 41 assists in the Tomcats’ 2-1 win over Saint Vincent.

RYAN MAURER (Seneca Valley), a senior on the Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team, scored his fifth goal of the season on Senior Day as the Lions defeated Penn State Altoona, 6-0.

ANGELA SEMAN (Seneca Valley), a senior libero on the No. 6 Pitt volleyball team, had a team-leading 17 digs in the Panthers’ 3-1 win over North Carolina State. Pitt is 20-0 overall, 8-0 in the ACC.
