A Butler man was sentenced to probation in Butler County Court on Wednesday, after being charged with stalking a woman he believed was involved in the drug trade and crashing into her vehicle.

Darrell R. Pacoe, 44, was sentenced to two years' probation by President Judge Thomas Doerr.

He was also ordered to pay court costs, a $250 fine and complete anger management counseling.

Pacoe's attorney, Michael Zunder, said during the proceeding that his client has completed 16 anger management sessions and is “proactive in his counseling.”

Pacoe pleaded guilty Jan. 10 to a misdemeanor count of stalking.

He was initially charged by Butler Township Police with 23 counts, including misdemeanor terroristic threats, two counts each of stalking, simple assault, disorderly conduct and accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle as well as 14 summary offenses, including harassment, criminal mischief and reckless driving after an incident Feb. 3, 2017.

The remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

The charges stem from a vehicle accident and harassment incident, where Pacoe was charged with causing the crash after stalking a woman he believed to be connected to drug trafficking, police said.

Police said Pacoe had been stalking the woman, who lives near him, and reported to police a “gang related” incident of a suspicious vehicle associated with the woman.

After the report, Pacoe followed the woman and her friend in a separate vehicle through Butler before pulling in front of the woman's vehicle, slamming his brakes, putting his car in reverse and hitting the front of her vehicle, police said.

Once he forced the women's vehicle to stop, he then got out of his truck and yelled “You're going to die!” police said.
