A Butler woman is accused of cutting a man’s neck with a broken wine glass, leaving him in need of hospital treatment in Pittsburgh for a possibly severed jugular vein.

Butler police on Monday obtained an arrest warrant for 33-year-old Tara J. Kyles-Edge on a charge of felony assault stemming from the weekend altercation at her home on Wagner Avenue.

Mark Holmes, 32, of Butler suffered at least a 6-inch cut from below his left ear to the middle of his throat, police said. He was treated and later released.

A 911 call just before 2 a.m. Saturday sent police and emergency crews to the 500 block of West New Castle Street for a man bleeding profusely from a slicing wound to the throat.

Holmes, who was covered in his own blood, told treating paramedics “Tara” caused his injury, according to court documents.
